Use the command bar to ask agents for help
The Command Bar is a quick way to ask an agent to work with the item you are viewing. Use it when you know the outcome you want but do not want to start from a page-specific agent action.
What the Command Bar does
The Command Bar turns a plain-language request into a proposed plan of one or more agent runs. Review the plan before work starts.
The current page supplies context. For example, you can ask an agent to work with the task, document, epic, or CRM record you are viewing.
Open the Command Bar
Press Cmd+K to open the Command Bar.
Before publishing, confirm the supported shortcut on every platform and whether the Command Bar is enabled for your workspace.
Ask for work in plain language
Describe the outcome you want. You can name an available agent or describe the work directly.
Examples:
“Summarize this and create a document”
“Run Forge and then Lens for this task”
“Review this document for missing details”
Review and start the plan
Before work begins, review the proposed plan in the Command Bar. Confirm it to start the first run.
For a multi-step request, later steps begin after the earlier step completes.
Follow a run
After you start a plan, use the command-run panel to see its status. Open the run for details and respond if an agent pauses for your approval. You may be able to cancel or retry a plan when those actions are available.
If no agent is available
If the Command Bar cannot find an agent that can handle your request, it lets you know instead of starting work. Try making the request more specific or name the agent you expect to use.
Tips
Keep each request focused on the page you are viewing.
Review every proposed plan before confirming it.
Use a page-specific agent action when you prefer a guided, single-purpose workflow.
The Command Bar accelerates agent-assisted work; it does not replace the agent actions available on individual pages.
Publication checklist
This draft needs Command Bar product/engineering owner verification before publication:
supported shortcuts by platform;
eligible page types and workspace availability;
confirmation, sequencing, paused-run, cancel, and retry behavior;
customer-visible names for the Command Bar and command-run panel.
